The first declared United States National Monument and one of the most famous landmarks in Wyoming, the 386m tall Devils Tower rises prominent over the surrounding terrain. While it is a popular climbing spot, it is most famous for its use as a location in the 1977 movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
