As the largest town square in Trieste, the Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia is also known as the Piazza Grande. The Square is the biggest one near a seaside, and was build while Trieste was the main port of the Austrian Hungarian empire and on it sides are the cities municipal buildings and other important buildings.
